01Who we are
Moonlite Blinds and Shutters (“Moonlite”, “we”, “us”) is a made-to-measure blinds and shutters company based at Unit 3 Church House, Old Hall Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent ST1 3AU. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

02What we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- Contact details — name, address, postcode, phone number and email, when you book a visit, request a quote or place an order.
- Property details — window measurements, photographs of windows taken on the visit, access notes and fitting instructions.
- Order and payment details — products chosen, prices, deposits and payments. Card details are processed by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
- Communications — emails, messages, call notes and reviews you send us or post publicly.
- Website data — pages visited, device type and approximate location, collected through cookies and analytics (see section 7).
03Why we use it
We use your data on the following lawful bases:
- To perform our contract with you — arranging visits, measuring, making, delivering and fitting your blinds, and handling warranty claims.
- Legitimate interests — confirming appointments by text or call, following up quotes, asking for a review after fitting, and improving our website and service.
- Legal obligations — keeping accounting records, and complying with consumer and child-safety regulations.
- Consent — sending marketing emails or texts about offers and new ranges. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP or using the unsubscribe link.
04Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary, and only with:
- Our own fitting team and workshop staff, who need your address, measurements and contact details to complete the job.
- Suppliers and manufacturers (for example shutter makers) where an item is made to order by them — they receive measurements and a job reference, not your contact details unless delivery is direct to you.
- Payment providers, our accountant and, where relevant, finance providers you have chosen.
- Service providers who host our website, booking system and email.
- Regulators, courts or the police where the law requires.
We never sell your personal data or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
05How long we keep it
Quotes that do not become orders are deleted after 24 months. Order records, measurements and warranty information are kept for 7 years to meet our accounting and warranty obligations. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it. Website analytics data is retained for 26 months.
06Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Ask us to delete data we no longer need.
- Object to, or restrict, processing based on legitimate interests.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@moonliteblinds.co.uk. We respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
07Cookies and analytics
Our website uses essential cookies to remember your preferences and keep forms working, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand which pages are useful. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner. Embedded maps, videos and the booking widget may set their own cookies under their providers’ policies.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work, but some features such as the booking widget may not.
08Security
Customer data is stored in password-protected, access-controlled systems with two-factor authentication. Paper measurement sheets are kept securely and shredded once the job is complete and recorded digitally. Only staff who need your data to do their job can see it.
09Changes to this policy
We review this policy once a year and whenever our processes change. The date at the top shows the current version. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
