Everything below is how we actually work, taken from our terms and the way the home visit runs. If your question is not here, call 01782 433 333 and ask; the showroom is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm.
The questions
01How does the free home visit work?
You pick a 2-hour slot, weekdays, evenings or Saturdays. An adviser arrives in that window with the sample books, measures every window and writes a fixed quote on the day. It usually takes 30 to 45 minutes and there is no obligation.
02Is there any charge for the visit, measuring or fitting?
No. All three are included, with no travel charge anywhere we cover. You only pay the quoted price if you go ahead.
03How much do blinds cost?
From £99 fitted for three plain vertical blinds, £119 for three rollers and £269 for three day and night blinds. Everything else is quoted per window on the visit. Our blinds cost guide explains what moves the price.
04How much do shutters cost?
Per window, on a free survey, depending on material (PVC or hardwood), style and size. The shutters cost guide explains the factors.
05How long until my blinds are fitted?
Most made-to-measure blinds are supplied and fitted within a week of your visit (5 to 7 working days). We confirm the fitting date when you order and call the day before.
06How long do shutters take?
Typically 8 to 10 weeks from survey to fitting, because every panel is made to order.
07How long is the quote valid?
Quotes are written, fixed and valid for 30 days.
08When do I pay?
A 50% deposit when you place the order, and the balance when fitting is complete. Shutters and special orders may need a larger deposit, stated on the quote.
09What is the warranty?
All blinds and fitting are guaranteed for 12 months from the fitting date against defects in materials, mechanisms and workmanship. Nevada and Hampton PVC shutters carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty, and Madison hardwood is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
10Are your blinds child-safe?
Every blind we fit complies with BS EN 13120 and the Make It Safe scheme, with safety devices fitted as standard. Cordless, Perfect Fit and motorised blinds have no hanging cords at all.
11Which areas do you cover?
Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stafford, Leek, Biddulph, Eccleshall, Uttoxeter, Burton upon Trent, Crewe, Nantwich, Alsager, Congleton, Derby and Manchester. If you are on the edge of the area, call: we rarely say no.
12Can I visit the showroom instead?
Yes. We are at Unit 3 Church House, Old Hall Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent ST1 3AU, open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. Booking a showroom appointment means the right adviser is free for you.
13Do I need to measure anything before the visit?
No. We measure every window ourselves and the quote is based on our measurements. A rough count of windows and rooms helps us bring the right samples.
14Can you fit blinds to uPVC windows without drilling?
Yes. Perfect Fit and INTU blinds clip into the glazing bead with no screws or holes, so they suit rented homes, tilt-and-turn windows and doors.
15Which brands do you use?
We bring sample books from Louvolite, Luxaflex, Eclipse, Decora and Arena, and our shutters are Santa Fe by Decora.
16What happens if there is a delay?
Lead times on the quote are estimates. We keep you informed, and if a delay exceeds 30 days beyond the estimate you may cancel for a full refund.
Facts checked 3 November 2026. Prices and lead times are those published on this site at that date; the quote you receive on your visit is the one that counts.
